TRAFFIC OFFICER: TRAFFIC LAW ENFORCEMENT – THEEWATERSKLOOF MUNICIPALITY

Closing Date: 15 June 2018
Salary: Post Level: T09 – Between R173 712.00 p.a. and R225 444.00 p.a.

Responsibilities would involve the following: Co-ordinate specific activities associated with controlling traffic flow and public safety * do speed monitoring and enforcement * monitors the local area and act on situations / behavior deemed to be inappropriate or non-conforming * enforce compliance of by-laws, road traffic and safety regulations * provide emergency support function during disasters or emergency situations * investigate complaints * control traffic * impounding of vehicles * present road safety awareness and educational programs * complete specific reports, statutory documentation and registers * do specialized traffic policing * patrolling and observing streets and identify non-conforming practices * ensure that inconvenience and/or risks to safety are minimized through efficient handling of traffic congestions / bottlenecks * promote a safe work environment * be willing to work overtime as and when needed * other duties as requested from time to time.
